The Commercial Law League of America announces the formation of their Government Affairs Committee. CLLA's President Peter Califano appointed Stephen Sather and Lori Frank as the Co-Chairs of this vital Committee. Califano stated, "this is a natural progression of CLLA's important role in assisting the financial credit and collection industry."

The purpose of the Committee is to coordinate with the CLLA's Bankruptcy, Creditors' Rights and the newly-formed Agency Members Sections in developing legislative or regulatory commentary and affirmative initiatives that the CLLA would actively advance in Washington, DC. The CLLA, traditionally a creditor-based organization, seeks legislative and regulatory initiatives that promote comprehensive solutions at all levels of the credit cycle.
