phoneContinuing its focus on addressing the problem of unwanted and illegal robocalls, the Federal Communications Commission voted to adopt a second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, moving forward with efforts to create a reassigned numbers database during its March 22 Open Meeting. All of the commissioners voted to approve the FNPRM except Democrat Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel, who approved in part and dissented in part.

Although the approved second FNPRM has not been released, according to the circulated FNPRM that was released before the vote, it would:

• Ensure that one or more databases are available to provide callers with the comprehensive and timely information they need to avoid calling reassigned numbers.
