Do and Don't for the Week of August 20

Do
Never take compliance for granted, the grey line is not the line to walk. All in or all out.

Don't
Don’t take your culture for granted. Your culture is not static it is forever changing. If you think it is always going to be there, well think again. A culture is being developed whether you like it or not, make sure it’s a good one.

Do and Don't for the Week of August 13

Do
Create a culture where compliance is the foundation of the organization.

Don't
Grow too quickly. Sometimes opportunities present themselves that lead to exponential growth. Growth has to be planned, strategized and managed to be successful.

Do and Don't for the Week of July 30

Do
As you peruse these social media sites to find a skip, pay particular attention to posts from their “friends” and you will be much more likely to obtain truthful and useful information regarding your subject.

Don't
When tracing through the utilization of social sites such as Facebook, Myspace (yes there are still people who post on Myspace) and school sites like Alumni.com or Classmates.com, don't take your subject’s posts at face value as they may be laying down a false trail.

Do and Don't for the Week of July 23

Do
Treat your clients and your people like gold. They are irreplaceable and make your company what it is today.

Don't
Don’t always put profit above performance. Building a strong relationship means doing everything you can to be the best you can be. Sometimes to take a step forward with a client, you may have to take two steps back, but driving all of your actions off a P&L will sometimes make you end up questioning where all your volume went. Building long partnerships, growing volume and promoting successful performance ultimately breeds long-term financial success…be in for the long haul!

Do and Don't for the Week of July 16

Do
Manage from the heart. Create a team that not only cares about the work they do but also the team members they interact with daily.

Don't
Don't hesitate to take action on compliance non-conformities. Non-compliant behavior must be re-mediated immediately with corrective action engagement.

Do and Don't for the Week of July 9

Do
Use non-provocative identifiers such as previous addresses or employments and even relatives or references names.

Don't
When tracing DON’T use “Date of Birth or Social Security Numbers. as identifiers. Use of these two items will immediately make the person you are speaking with suspicious and reluctant to give you any information.

Do and Don't for the Week of July 2

Do
Lead the way down the path of technology. Don’t be afraid to make a bold move, it will pay off more than you can imagine.

Don't
Don’t hoard what you know, be transparent, but not just with your clients, with your competition as well. There is enough money and success for everyone and if we all shared best practices and helped each other then everyone will be 90% of best, our clients won’t always look to do RFI’s and RFP’s every year and the people we work for will stick around awhile. There’s something to be said for the importance of that consistency.

Do and Don't for the Week of June 25

Do
Cultivate a consumer-centric environment where everyone conveys respect and is responsive.

Don't
Rush the training process. New hires and then subsequently tenured staff must be thoughtfully trained, re-trained and then assessed on their retention of the subject matter.
